Ace Aspiras, RRT, RCP

Ace Aspiras is a dedicated Frontline Respiratory Therapist, published author and known for caring for the first community spread COVID patient in the U.S. Ace’s Frontline Work began with clinical rotations at Ronald Reagan - UCLA and Kaiser - Sunset, which was followed by his role as a Pediatric ICU Respiratory Therapist at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA. From 2014 - 2022, he specialized in Neonatal ICU, Adult ICU, and Emergency Medicine while at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA.

Due to the harrowing effects of working in acute care during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ace developed and was later diagnosed with PTSD. His recovery journey led him to the organization, Save a Warrior, a program focused on complex PTSD and suicide ideation for Veterans and First Responders.

Inspired by his own journey of healing, Ace became intrigued and drawn to understanding mental health resiliency. Ace began to uncover his own generational history of trauma, resilience, and courage that started even before he and his family’s immigration to the United States from Davao, Philippines.

Ace went on to author the book, “Triumphing in Truth: Transforming Trials into Testimonies,” which he shares his own journey and a methodology that can lead one on a path of Post Traumatic Growth. He hopes by sharing his own story and discovery, that readers can also gain the strength to overcome their darkest of hours.

As a father of three and a loving husband, he continues to draw strength from his grandfather, a WWII Prisoner of War, and his family legacy in law enforcement that included both parents. Ace continues to discover how his family's move to the U.S. shaped his life and writing.

Ace works as a NICU Transport Respiratory Therapist in Boise, Idaho. Ace actively supports and serves his fellow frontline workers through Courageous Survival of Idaho and the Save A Warrior.
