Jed Carter

Jed Carter is a Retired Combat Veteran after serving 24 years and 6 months of dedicated service in the United States Army. Jed began his career as an Enlisted Soldier (91B Medical Specialist and 91D Operating Room Specialist) and served as the Operating Room NCOIC during Operation Enduring Freedom (2002) in Afghanistan with the 947th FST in support of the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (CJSOTF) and 3rd Special Forces Group. In 2005, Jed was awarded Person of the Year for the Connecticut Army Reserves. Once an NCO, Jed transitioned to MOS 25B Information Systems Operator-Analyst.

In his previous civilian role as a Correction Officer, Jed received the State of Connecticut Distinguished Service Medal for actions taken during a violent assault on an inmate. In 2006, he received the Preservation of Life award for my actions during an inmate’s attempt to commit suicide. He also served on the Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) for facility emergencies.

In 2007, Jed transferred to the 744th Military Police Battalion where he served as the Battalion (BN) S-6 NCOIC/OIC during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. As the Information Systems Staff NCO of 4th Battalion 415th Regiment (SROTC) his roles included Battalion Security Manager, Information Assurance Security Officer, Information Management Officer, Information Systems Security Officer, OPSEC Officer, and Physical Security Manager. 

In 2011, Jed graduated from Warrant Officer Candidate School and was assigned to the NE Cyber Protection Center (NECPC). In 2105, he deployed to the Southwest Asia Cyber Center (SWACC) in Kuwait. He also conducted a solo mission to Afghanistan providing support at multiple U.S. bases. 

In his civilian career, Jed moved up through the Information Systems ranks with his roles as Security Manager (ISSM) to a Sr. Information Security Engineer III.
