Kenneth MacIntosh, LCSW
Kenneth (Kenny) MacIntosh enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2007 and served as a Navy Fleet Marine Force Corpsman (Combat Medic) with the Marine Corps Route Clearance Team in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. During his deployment, he treated the physical wounds of war.
Upon returning home, he saw that many Veterans were profoundly impacted by the invisible wounds of combat. These experiences ignited his passion for helping Veterans heal from the traumas of war.
After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy, Kenny entered into the fight against the invisible wounds of war, attaining a Bachelors in Psychology, a Masters in Social Work, and becoming an Independently Licensed Psychotherapist. He has served in various capacities, including Veterans Homeless Services, at a Soldier’s Home with elderly Veterans, as a Suicide Prevention Case Manager at the Boston VA, and as a therapist for combat Veterans, Veterans who experienced military sexual trauma, and Gold Star families. His extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those who have served.
While much of Kenny’s work has been with Veterans, he recognizes that trauma and mental health struggles can impact individuals from all walks of life. Over the past several years his work has been with folks ranging from college students, business professionals, and First Responders. His therapeutic skills are broad and adaptable, making him well-suited to assist anyone seeking healing and recovery.
Kenny is trained in multiple talk therapy modalities, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Clinical Hypnotherapy (which he uses for stress reduction and self-exploration). Whether you are impacted by trauma, depression, anxiety, or stress, Kenny can develop a treatment plan that fosters healing and growth for his clients.
